Patron Construction was founded in 1967 by Pat and Ron Stitt. Patron started building residential and agricultural, eventually transitioning into a commercial building in the 1980s. In 2006 David Stitt took over Patron Construction and ran the company to present.

Our Team
Dave Stitt
President
Dave has been with Patron since 1977. He started out working in the field and worked his way up the ladder, becoming a master in every aspect of construction. Dave is not only capable of complete project management, but he can also self-perform every commercial construction task at highly skilled labor levels. This combination of experience makes Dave an extremely effective and efficient asset to any project that he is a part of.
Vern Stitt
Project Manager / Estimator
Vern has been with Patron Construction since 2006. He started as a laborer and moved on to become a carpenter, carpenter foreman, site superintendent, to his current position as a project manager. Vern began college in 2014 studying construction management. He received an associate’s degree in 2016 and has a few classes left to finish his bachelor’s degree. Vern has also been in the Army National Guard since 2006 where he acts as a construction project manager for the National Guard Throughout the state of Michigan and outside of the United States. He has one deployment to Iraq where he was a gun truck commander in a convoy security element.
Shawn Dickinson
Site Superintendent
Shawn has been with Patron since 1995. Shawn started at Patron as a Laborer and has progressed as a skilled carpenter, skilled concrete finisher, carpenter foreman, concrete foreman, and site superintendent. Shawn has been involved in many large-scale building projects and has particular expertise in Concrete and pre-engineered steel buildings.
Cody Dewitt
Project Manager
Cody began his career with Patron Construction in 2019. Prior to working with Patron, Cody worked at Rockford Construction specializing in the construction of Meijer stores all around the Midwest. He graduated from Ferris State University in 2013 with his Associates of Applied Science in Building Construction Technology and his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 2015. He also played football for Ferris for 4 Years.
Kelly Grimm
Construction Administrator
Kelly has been with Patron Construction since 2009. Before working at Patron Construction, Kelly had 13 Years of Project Administration experience. Kelly is a very key individual in the construction process by keeping the behind-the-scenes work running smoothly. Kelly takes care of all the construction billing, Project insurances, and change order requests, as well as other project HR requirements.
